Evolution of Fashion: Loungewear

What is fashion? Is fashion all about the here and now? or is it driven by what people are looking for. Well it is a mixture of both, fashion is usually influenced by fashion moguls and the influential people in the media. The true fact of the matter is that when styles and patterns fall out of fashion, it just means that it is no longer sought after by the masses. In truth that particular fashion style or trend just took on a new label such as vintage or retro. 

With fashion and styles evolving so are the ways trends in fashions are being treated. Clothing items such as leggings have been back in fashion for many years now, and there seems to be no end in sight for them to leave the fashion industry, especially with the loungewear fashion on the rise. Loungewear used to be the old ratty worn out clothes that will never see the light of day again, or the skimpy lingerie that you wear around the house. Also do not forget the oversized sweats for those bloated days of the month. Now loungewear has transformed into styles that can be worn inside the house and transcended it to an outfit to wear outside the house.

Since 2020 has changed the rules of social engagement and work environment, we may see more and more clothes that are indeed styles made for comfort, but also made to look stylish and fashionable. If fashion continues down this trend, it would be interesting to see how the standard for fashion fabrics will change the industry. Will materials turn more soft and comforting or are they styles just going to be more evolved for more of a relax fit that would not necessarily require shapewear to wear under your clothes.
